Update #5
Hello everyone! Our apologies for being so quiet these past couple months, but big things have been happening behind the scenes. Here is a longer update than usual for those of you who have been following and contributing to this project:
Legal Stuff
Last month we received confirmation from the New Hampshire Department of State that our legal entity is set up and ready to start operating. This is required for the project to set up a “business” bank account and collectively purchase the land we will be utilizing for our facilities. Obviously, this is a huge step forward for the project and absolutely essential for the next steps of securing a property.
National Support
We have been talking with the Socialist Rifle Association national organization in regard to helping us with this project. We have received overwhelming messages of support from the various chapters around the country and are in the process of ironing out the details of what ways the national administration will support our endeavors. As one of our goals with this project was creating a template for other regions of the country to build similar ranges, we are very excited to continue working with everyone. Stay tuned for further updates on this matter.
Social Media
We will continue to post on the chapter-specific accounts, but we have also created an Instagram account dedicated to this project. Please follow @comradecenter on Instagram for important updates and community content. The number one priority for this project is to interact with our communities and serve them in the ways they need. The COVID-19 pandemic has made this extremely difficult to do so safely, and as such, we are forced to do a lot of our recent organizing online.
Website
Towards the end of February development started on a website to host important details, sign up forms, contact information, and various other aspects of the range. We will inevitably need to transition away from GoFundMe once the range is operational, so it will also be used as a tool for donating towards the continued existence of our project.
Merch
Last but not least, we are in the process of creating merchandise to generate interest in the project. There is no timeline for when to expect this since we are making sure to create responsible products that people would actually want to wear or use. If you have any ideas you’d like to see come to life, please feel free to contact us.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has donated and shared this project with your friends and family! Lots of work has been done and even more needs to be done before we can see this idea turn into a reality. We could not have done any of this without your help, and it truly means a lot to see the support we have been receiving.
